WHAT WE DO
Missouri State Tectonics team is currently working on several projects. We are actively looking for graduate and undergraduate students to join our group!
We are actively involved in a number of projects around the world.
Our goal is to understand mountain building processes using field geological surveys integrated with high-precision techniques, including:
-radioisotope analysis to determine geologic age
-geophysical surveys for investigating Earth's internal structure
-geochemistry to understand the evolution of rocks through time
-deformation sensors to detect modern uplift
The key to our work is conducting field geologic mapping. We are particularly well suited to working in remote, backcountry areas where other teams are not capable of working.
