Covering ground

Update from the field team in western Idaho:

Mark Brown, Sourav Nandi, and Derek Spurgeon covered over 42 miles in 4 days collecting geologic observations along the way to help understand what the roots of mountain belts look like through time. That haul brings the total distance covered this field season to over 125 miles, mostly in heavy packs and operating from deep back-country camp sites. They have exited the field area for some well deserved R&R&R (rest, relaxation, and refitting). Emphasis on the refitting.....they are headed right back into the bush tomorrow. Just proof that the closest job to professional hiker is field geologist.
